Buddy Reading, 2014

We have started our buddy reading programme, which was a lovely sessions and enjoyed by all the children. All of the younger children are buddied up with an older child.

Swimming Sports 27th February, 2014

We had our swimming sports on Thursday and this is what the class wrote about this:

Felix wrote: I was in the pool and I blew bubbles.
Hault wrote: I jumped in the pool.
Payton wrote: I went to the swimming sports. I blew bubbles and used kickboards.
Kayla wrote: I went to the swimming sports and I blew bubbles.

Welcome to a new year at Auckland Point School

We are into the third week of school and the class are following routines well and enjoying their time at school. It is good to see them developing new friendships and trying to become more independent.
We are loving that we are able to swim everyday and our year 2 children are able to have lessons with Pattison Swim School.
At the moment we have 15 children in the class with 3 more to come by March.

Red Square Performance

Our school walked to beside the Cathedral and we sang 5 songs at the Red Square Performance; 'Fire Flies', 'One day a Taniwha', 'Why does the sun shine?',  'Tohora Nui', 'The Silly Hat Store', 'Your can count on me'.
'Why does the Sun Shine?' was our song that we sang in the Masked Parade and some people wore their masks for this number.

This is what some of Trafalgar Room wrote on the day.

Xavier wrote;
I went to Red Square and I sang with the whole school.

Dalaura wrote;
Yesterday I walked to Red Square and we danced.

Zac wrote;
I went to Red Square and we sang and danced. I saw wolves on the stage.

The Masked Parade

Our school went to the masked parade and we sang our great song 'Why does the sun shine?'

Shimiela wrote;
Me and my sister sat together with our masks on. I love my mask and I look like the sun.

Felix wrote;
I went to the masked parade. I love my brother because he was the sun too.

Kayla wrote;
I went to the Masked Parade and I held mum's hand and walked around.

Joseph wrote;
I went in the Masked Parade and this is me. I wore my sun mask.
